Lorry driver arrested after claims motorist was threatened with knife on M6

A lorry driver was arrested after a motorist claimed he was threatened with a knife on the M6.
The driver alleged the man in the lorry had been driving recklessly last night at around 6.20pm, before the pair exchanged words. The HGV driver is then alleged to have then waved a knife at the motorist out of his cab window.
Minutes later officers stopped a lorry in an emergency refuge area of the motorway near to junction 9 and arrested a 35-year-old male driver on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of a bladed article.
During a search of the cab a large knife was recovered.
Chief Inspector Jed White, from Central Motorway Police Group, said: "Any reports of this nature are taken very seriously by our officers as violence or abusive behaviour has no place on the motorway network.
"A moment's distraction of this nature can be incredibly dangerous and is reckless ? let alone distressing and very concerning for those involved.
"A man is now in police custody and is helping us with our enquiries in relation to this matter."
