Theodore Wiggan, a 27-year-old manager from West Bromwich, self-employed Sundish Nazran, 31, of Handsworth; unemployed Amar Ghalib, 32, of Sheldon; and unemployed Donavan Rowe, 33, also of Handsworth, are all charged with conspiring to acquire, use or possess criminal property - specifically guns and ammunition.

The four men were arrested yesterday and are due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today.

Det Sgt. Dave Sproson, said: "This investigation has resulted in eight guns and over 500 rounds of ammunition being recovered.

"The weapons we have recovered are currently being examined by experts at the National Ballistics Intelligence Service to establish any possible links with crimes committed anywhere in the UK.

"Contrary to popular belief, there aren't a large number of guns or bullets on the streets of Birmingham and that's why this haul is particularly remarkable. This haul will have a significant impact on serious crime across the region. Every bullet seized by the team potentially represents at least one life saved."

It comes after five men were also arrested on Friday and charged with possession and conspiracy to supply firearms. They were driver Janed Mohammed, 20, and unemployed Mohammed Fedah, 26, both of Smethwick; unemployed Nosakhere Stephenson, 40, of Birmingham; and personal assistant Rowan Gul, 32, and unemployed Usman Hussain, 30, both of Sheldon.

All were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on January 30.

Anyone with information about suspected gun crime should call police on 101 or the national charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
