Emergency services say drivers faced slippy conditions on roads after two accidents in Sedgley and Netherton this morning.

A silver Vauxhall Frontera 4x4 left the road in Cotwell End Road, near Cotwell End Nature Reserve, in Sedgley, at around 8.40am.

It struck a tree before flipping onto its side.

Fire crews from Dudley and Bilston stations were initially called to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

A man managed to get out of the car and was treated by paramedics for minor injuries but was discharged at the scene.

Watch commander Nigel Hobby, from Dudley fire station, said: "Speed was not a factor. The car had reached a bend in the road covered by overhanging trees where ice had formed underneath."

The road was blocked for a short time while the vehicle was recovered and cleared. Crews left the scene by around 9.30am.

Meanwhile two cars collided at the junction of Marriott Road and Church road, in Netherton, at 9.30am.

The Ford KA and Vauxhall car both received front end damage in the crash.

Firefighters from Brierley Hill fire station attended alongside paramedics in two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and a paramedic officer.

Two people were treated at the scene for chest injuries and both were taken to Dudley's Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment.

Fire crews left the scene by 10am.
