Former Stourbridge care home to make way for new homes

A former care home in Stourbridge will be knocked down to make way for 22 new homes.

Eight houses and 14 apartments for adults with learning disabilities will be built on the site of Amblecote House.

Bromford Developments Limited has been granted planning permission for the scheme by Dudley Council.

Amblecote House in King William Street was earmarked for closure in 2010 due to escalating repair costs. At the time there were 29 residents and 43 staff members at the home. The building has been empty since 2013.
