Trio in court accused of armed Wolverhampton shop robbery
Three men were due to appear in court this morning accused of a robbery at a Wolverhampton shop.
Police were called to reports of a member of staff being assaulted during an armed robbery at a general store on Newhampton Road, Whitmore Reans at 1.15am.
Officers quickly attended and detained three men nearby in connection with the robbery.
Unemployed Ashley Haughton, aged 26, from Great Hampton Street, Whitmore Reans was later charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Zubair Khan, a 26-year-old driver from Seymour Road, Oldbury was charged with robbery.
Unemployed Isaac Frazer, aged 33, of Newbridge Street, Whitmore Reans was charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
All three will appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court this morning.
