Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Midland chip shop stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed at a Midland fish and chip shop.

The 51-year-old victim was violently assaulted at around 3.20pm on November 7 at Simply Fish and Chips in Hagley Road West, Quinton. He is being cared for by family as he continues to recover.

Police arrested the 28-year-old suspect in Edgbaston today.

His arrest comes after a series of media appeals to identify the man responsible including the offer of up to £2000 reward from Crimestoppers for any information.

The man is being questioned by detectives as enquiries continue.
