Two arrested after student threatened with knife in Wolverhampton city centre robbery

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery after a stolen mobile phone was traced using a tracker app.

The iPhone 5S was stolen near the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton in the early hours of this morning by two men who threatened a 20-year-old a student with a knife.

The phone was tracked a short while later to Lower Villiers Street.

Police officers and a tracker dog searched the local area and the discarded phone was found along with a knife. Two men who were seen running away, were arrested.

A second mobile phone was also found and is believed to have been stolen in Dudley Road just an hour earlier.

The men, both aged 21, remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
