Tomasz Kruchowski was seen by police on the Black Country Route travelling from junction 10 of the M6 at Walsall towards Wolverhampton - but on the wrong side of the dual carriageway.

The 35-year-old, from Edukacji, Poland, was pulled over by officers and arrested at about 2.20am yesterday.

Once in police custody officers reported that he blew more than three times the drink drive limit.

Inspector Greg Jennings, from West Midlands Police said: "The circumstances of this particular incident could have been extremely serious had it been a busier time of day or if other vehicles had been innocently travelling along the dual carriageway."
