Rush hour smash on busy Wolverhampton road

Two cars were involved in a rush hour smash on a busy route.

A black Audi A3 vehicle and a black Mercedes collided on A4124 Wednesfield Road between Heath Town and Bentley Bridge in Wolverhampton.

It happened at around 5.40pm and West Midlands Police say two male drivers were injured.

Police spokeswoman Sarah Buxton said: "We were called to Wednesfield Road near to the junction of Deans Road at around 5.40pm yesterday.

"Officers were on the scene directing traffic around the crash which obstructed part of the road. The injuries aren't thought to be serious."

West Midlands Fire & Rescue Service said that fire crews from Fallings Park Fire Station made the scene safe and that two people were assessed at the scene by paramedics.

They left Wednesfield Road at 6pm.
