Man, 20, in court charged with Smethwick woman's murder

A man has appeared in court today over the murder of Glenis Bensley in Smethwick.

Unemployed Zoheb Majib of Cheshire Road, Smethwick, was arrested by detectives in the Highgate Area of Birmingham on Thursday night.

He appeared dressed in a black tee-shirt and grey jogging trousers at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court where he confirmed his name, age and address.

He was remanded in custody and will appear next at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday for a preliminary hearing.

He 20-year-old is the second person to be charged with the murder of Ms Bensley, aged 47, who was found in Cheshire Road jut before 11.50pm on September 3.

A post mortem found she died of head injuries.

A 13-year-old boy has also been arrested and charged over her murder.
