Museum offers £20k reward for info after 'priceless' trophies stolen

'Priceless' trophies have been stolen by raiders who smashed their way into the National Motorcycle Museum.

The trophies from inside display cabinets in the shop at the museum in Coventry Road, Solihull last night.

The museum is offering a £20,000 reward for information which leads to the safe recovery of the trophies.

The thieves then fled the scene before police arrived at 10.56pm. Police forensic teams are at the museum today examining the shop for clues.

West Midlands Police spokeswoman Sarah Buxton said: "Police responded to an intruder alarm at the National Motorcycle Museum last night.

"On arrival, officers found windows to the shop had been smashed and a number of trophies had been taken from display cabinets, however the offenders had not gained access to the main museum area.

"Forensic investigators are examining the scene this morning and enquiries are on-going."
