This was the scene after a car smashed into the front of a fish and chip shop in Dudley.
The BMW1 Series left the road mounted the pavement and travelled some 25 metre before ending up in the front of Tasty Fish Bar - also known as Mandy's Plaice - in Commonside, Pensnett in Dudley on Wednesday.
Staff managed to flee as the car came crashing through the front window. There were no customers inside.
Police, ambulance, and firefighters were all called to the scene around 7.30pm.
Crowds gathered to watch and a safety inspector assessed the building and gave approval for the car to be removed.
Dudley Fire Station watch commander Ross Gordon said: "Fortunately the driver was not injured and he was out of the car when we arrived and was being given the once over by paramedics.
"We had to make sure the structure was sound until a structural engineer came out.
"He decided it was safe to remove the vehicle and hand the property back over to the owner.
"It is remarkable really because the car has gone through the window and is actually touching the fryer.
"The staff behind the fryer managed to move but it is incredible that for that time of day there was no customers in the shop.
"Had that been the case we would have been dealing with a completely different situation."
