Fire and rescue crews from Cannock and Bloxwich attended the incident on Rumer Hill in Cannock following an emergency call at 10.37am.

The incident involved a carport containing approximately 40 rabbit hutches that was well alight when crews arrived.

Firefighters forced entry to the car port and tackled the blaze using one hose reel jet and prevented the fire from spreading to the house.

"We strongly advise people not to leave the vicinity when using tea lights and candles. They should always be placed on a heat-resistant surface such as a ceramic plate and in a correct candle holder with the candle fitted in firmly," said station manager Graham Mills

Firefighters left the scene at 12.48pm.
