Teen slashed with knife at Wolverhampton's Wulfrun Centre
A teenager was slashed with a knife during an attack at the Wulfrun Centre in Wolverhampton today.
Police were called to the shopping centre just before 2.40pm this afternoon. Another man has been detained on suspicion of carrying out the attack.
Blood was seen on the steps inside Argos, where the victim received medical attention, and officers were interviewing staff with a PCSO standing guard at the rear entrance of the city centre branch.
Inspector Matt Barnes, from Wolverhampton Police, said: "We were called following reports that a man had been slashed with a knife.
"Officers attended and quickly detained a man on suspicion of carrying out the attack. He has been taken into police custody and a knife has been recovered.
"A 19-year-old man has been taken to hospital for treatment, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
"This is not being treated as a random attack and we believe those involved are known to each other."
Eyewitness Karolina Cumming, aged 30 and a mother-of-two, from Pendeford said: "There were police and ambulances everywhere. They stopped on Cleveland Street and there was blood on the floor. There was a lot of people standing around and I saw a man injured lying down on a sofa bed in Argos. It's not good to hear of such things."
