For the fifth year running West Park in Wolverhampton will host a series of activities for all the family on August 17.

Special guests include Peppa Pig, the stars of In the Night Garden and Toy Story, Fireman Sam, Hello Kitty and Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Signal 107 will broadcast live throughout the day, while there will be a fleet of Second World War military vehicles on display – with veterans from key battles on hand to share their experiences.

This year will see a new sports arena courtesy of Black Country Sportivate, giving people the chance to try out dozens of sports and sign-up to free sports sessions.

The Light House Media Centre will provide a line-up of local acts. There will also be a climbing wall and an inflatable assault course.

At last year's event more than 2,500 visitors helped raise around £1,500 for local charities.

Wolverhampton City Council's leisure chief Councillor Elias Mattu, said: "This is a great community event. It promises something for all the family and is a wonderful way to spend a summer's day in Wolverhampton's premier park."

Cash raised from the charity raffles will go to Wolverhampton Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre and the Parachute Regiment.

The fun day takes place between 10am and 6pm and entry is free.
