Ranger injured in West Midland Safari Park crash

A park ranger was injured today when a 4x4 vehicle crashed into a wooden structure at West Midland Safari Park.

The vehicle smashed into the hay stack in the African Reserve at about 2pm.

The male driver was taken to hospital but was not believed to be badly injured.

Bob Lawrence, director of wildlife at the Bewdley attraction, said: "There was an incident but its currently under investigation to see what happened.

"The vehicle and the structure came off worse and it doesn't sound like the member of staff is badly injured."

No animals were involved in the incident and the safari park continued operating as normal.
