Rush hour delays after two Staffordshire smashes

Two road accidents caused delays on two busy Staffordshire roads today during rush hour.

The first saw a lorry and Ford Galaxy collide on the A5 at the Churchbridge island close to junction 7 of the M6 Toll at 6.20am.

The road was blocked causing 10 minute delays for drivers before being cleared at 7am,.

Police said there was no injuries.

Later a white transit van carrying a hazardous load overturned on the A51 at Longdon Green near Rugeley just before 7.30am.

Police and firefighters attended the scene as precaution because of the contents of the transit van and because there was fuel on the road.

A recovery vehicle was requested and no injuries were reported.
