Firefighters were called to Leys Road in Brockmoor where a black Volkswagen Golf and a black BMW collided at around 10.30pm last night.

Crews from Brierley Hill and Stourbridge fire stations went to help the drivers who are believed to have lost control due to the wet road.

When the firefighters arrived both drivers were out of their cars having suffered minor scrapes and bruises. They were given first aid by fire and ambulance crews at the scene.

Crew commander Lee Smith: "They hit each other head on. We believe it was due to the slippery road surface.

"There were no serious injuries and they were given first aid by fire and ambulance personnel."

Meanwhile today there were delays on the Aston Expressway in Birmingham after a car hit a barrier on the way out of the city near Tyburn Road at around 7am.
