Investigation launched into water supply problems

Published

An investigation has been launched into why several thousand homes in South Staffordshire and Walsall were left with low water pressure or no supply at all.

There were reports of properties that had been affected last night in Brownhills, Streetly, Aldridge, Shire Oak, Clayhanger, Pelsall, Sutton Coldfield and Shelfield.

South Staffordshire Water said it had received the first reports at around 4.45pm.

The company said water had been restored to all properties by around 8.45pm and work was ongoing to find the source of the problem.

South Staffordshire Water spokeswoman Caroline Cooper said: "Several thousand properties have been affected, although not all at the same time.

"We have now restored all supplies and have apologised for any inconvenience caused.

"We are looking at the data to find out what the problem was."
