Club bosses want the Glassboys to remain faithful to their roots while developing new modern facilities at their base in Amblecote.

They hope the new motto – One Heart - One Way – will strengthen the club's links with supporters and the town.

The grant has been awarded to the club to transform its facilities for players and match day officials visiting the War Memorial Athletic ground.

The redesigned badge is based on the town's crest and comes as the club announces it is moving to Evo-stik Northern Premier Division from the Southern due to a league reshuffle.

Stourbridge FC will receive £46,615 of National Lottery cash from Sport England's Inspired Facilities Fund.

Club bosses today said they were 'thrilled' with the cash grant which they hope will boost the grassroots game in the town.

Long-serving Glassboys president Hugh Clark today said: "This is great news for Stourbridge which is the biggest club in the district with around 20 teams altogether and this will help us moving forward in the future. The social club is already regarded among the best in the league so to have the changing rooms improved will also help players here."

Money is going to be spent on non-slip flooring, decorating walls and ceilings and furniture. Officials also plan to make the club fully accessible for people with disabilities.

They added the work should allow the club to host an increased number of junior and community matches.

The Glassboys will also sport new badges on shirts next season after they are reverted to a traditional-style based on Stourbridge's Town Crest.

Club chairman Andy Pountney added: "We felt it was important to retain our affiliation to the town and introduce back to the club the old badge which was used many years ago."
