Santas a baggie

Absolutly, Pinstripes have no place at WBA will never buy one will never wear one. If this change does take place then we as fans and fee paying customers of West Bromwich Albion must make a stand. O'k wearing the broad stripes at the last match on Sunday is a start, but the only telling dfference would be to a boycot of the club shop for any purchase what so ever. If, as it seems WBAFC want to alienate the fans at every turn, which this season seems to be true then hit 'em in the pocket. It's the only way...........................................Don't forget.we as fans will be still be around a long time after this bunch(Chairman and Directors have long gone)

Stoney Lane

Spot on, Santa. Mr Peace is obviously confused by the changes at Southampton and Cardiff. Both inferior clubs, with nothing like our proud history, have had chairmen pouring in tens of millions of their personal fortunes.

Mr Peace has done a good job in balancing the books, but is no more than a guardian of our great club and heritage.

To even THINK about dumping the navy blue and white stripes and white shorts - we are the only major club to play in them anywhere in the world - is sacrilege. It is our unique trademark. Utterly crazy ideas cause so much ill-will and cost so much to rectify. Do you remember British Airways dumping the Union flag? And can anyone now recall the name of the numpty chairman who did it?

JA

Every single Albion fan who attends the game on Sunday should turn up in a BLUE and WHITE Stripped Albion shirt!

Yes we are proud of our club which has a very strong heritage and tradition and we MUST KEEP our broad blue and white stripped shirt for EVER!

A note for JP, if you want to make a few changes, get your cheque book out and invest it in the playing staff because we will need it next season!

COYB!

Thomp11

It's really easy folks. Everton tried to change their badge because the owners thought they knew best. So all the fans simply did not buy ANY stuff from the clubshop - absolutely nothing! Lo and behold - Everton changed the badge back!

Do the same - show them with your money you are not happy - YOU are the loyal fans paying the money to go season in/season out to support the club - show them tradition means something.

BurnhamChris

Wolves Fan since 1963 but this move from West Brom is utter madness and the idea of some Marketing Idiot with no idea of the history of this Club. Utter, utter madness

Jack the Hat

I've had a rethink and we must stay with our proper traditional stripes. Saying Adidas push this unALBION shirt on us then we shouldn't purchase any sporting goods with their brand name attached, not even a sweatband.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

Streetlybaggie

For gods sake Jack, adidas don't push the shirt on us its the club who decide what design to use and our trio at the top thought a completely new design would sell to the masses.

I have repeatedly said over time that they have no idea or interest of the heritage of our club.

The current episode regarding the Astle family show what sort of people they are, unless there is money to be made they are not interested.

Business wise they have done a great job at our club but why don't you and the few others on these pages take your blinkers off and occasionally acknowledge that there is a case of them and us with these people and their attitude stinks when it comes to the real fans, supporters club and ex players association.

Jack the Hat

Streetlybaggie,

Okay I have got the shirt bit wrong, But when are you and others going to stop being eristic and realize there are Stadium Health and safety rules that have to be adhered to and nothing to do with blinkers. These rules also apply to other shows and festivals where masses congregate. None so blind as those who don't want to see. Have you ever wondered what a Stadium manager resides over?. Now drop the woe is we attitude because Jeremy is responsible for your health and safety while you are on his property whether you like it or not. Thank you.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

Jack the Hat

The View From Baggy Bottom,

I've had it off good authority that it is nothing to do with Adidas mate, it is all Jeremy and them's fault. Raising the Adidas brand!, don't get blaming them, you will have Streetly on your case shouting blinkers. Hasn't any BAGGIES fan ever worked as Security or as a Steward on a football stadium, Speedway venue or Horse racing venue?, as there doesn't seem anyone conversant with safety rules about those venues.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

The Real Bully Hoo.

And don't forget they keep pushing the ticket prices up season after season.

Stearmans overhead kick

Had a rethink Jack ? What you gonna do paint your T.V remote and your armchair with the broader blue & white stripe. Pinstripes sounds good to me would be good to to change the badge to a sparra with a crutch would be good.

Buckswolf

sadly for you way too late - there are 5,000 pin-stripe shirts in the warehouse and they won't be shredding them - unfortunately Mr Peace and the "commercial department" at the poorthornes have no comprehension of the history and traditions of your club - sadly all too common in our game these days - UTW!

Jack the Hat

Buckswolf,

Whatever I wear even sackcloth will look better than that " Orange crush " coloured excuse for a football shirt you lot are forced to have draped over you, no wonder Dinglehampton always looks dull and dingy, sewer beds look brighter.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

Buckswolf

Not your most intellectual post Jack… UTW

Baggie Ed

Buckwulf, what if they made it the away shirt? Keep broad blue 'n white stripes for the home kit. Problems solved!

The View From Baggy Bottom

If Pepe stays, our away kit should be yellow and red stripes, red shorts and yellow socks, like a load of Spanish flags running around the pitch.

Discuss!!!

Boing Boing!!!

Santas a baggie

Radical!!!!!!!!

CantelloRocket 78

BB,

nice idea, but I seem to recall Bobby Gould got us to wear red and yellow stripes, claiming the combination of colours frightened the opposition - I don't know about that, but it terrified me.....

The View From Baggy Bottom

Bringing up the memory of Bobby Gould just terrified me!! God, we went through the mill back then, didn't we!

I just think it would make more sense now than it did back then. We could do with a bit more fun next season to help wash away the sour taste left in the mouth after this seasons troubles.

Boing Boing!!!

CantelloRocket 78

BB,

I actually like the idea, those colours are very bright, distinctive, and do send a message to the opposition that we're bold and confident-

but if we did want to 're-create' BG, we'd send the squad to train with the army, and drag fans into the dressing room - I wonder if he's still wearing that straightjacket....?

The Real Bully Hoo.

Actually, bonkers as he was I've always liked Bobby Gould, apart from the time he was our manager. Always seemed a down to earth decent bloke.

Cyril

Back in the days when Bobby Gould played, our kids were quite young. My elder brother had a very observant child, given to outspoken comment. He was about 5 and was at his first match. Bobby was making his way at speed back towards us. "Who's that bloke polishing his t*ts Dad" quoth the naughty one. Bobby used to run like that if you remember.

AndyH

Hi mate,

your comment about re-creating booby gould......please no....Paul Williams is all I will say on that...

think I need a cold shower...

hope you're okay

AndyH

chris.hickman.7792

TBH, I don't care if we play in string vests, Bermuda shorts, socks and sandles as long as next seasons results are better than this seasons results.

Jackett the Hat

Never mind the stripes, what about a big pocket on the front.....there were a few moans last season from Baggies who struggled to find anywhere to keep a couple of carrots for the oss, scrap metal receipts and a selection of bingo dabbers.

Clubs nowadays have no idea of the needs of their own paying public. They're goin the wrong way about it if they think a few pinstripes will smarten their fans up !

CantelloRocket 78

Jackett-

so you keep throwing insulting jibes about the appearance of Baggies fans, saying we have bad teeth, are obese, never wash, etc.-

well if you wanna dish it out-

you've said on the sites that you weigh 26 stone, you also say you regularly come into West Brom to eat Burgers, Curries, Kebabs, goat's stew, etc.-

so what's the betting at some point we'll find you climbing into Tesco's waste skip, tryin' to grab their out of date food.....??

Repulsive.......

Jackett the Hat

Good idea Rocket, while I'm in there I'll see if I can find some of their carrier bags, if I drop em outside the club shop they can be picked up and pasted on the front of the new pinstripe shirt.....Hey Presto, you've got your old shirt back and a free sponsors name.

Dragons Den looms!

CantelloRocket 78

Jackett-

if you were to climb out of a skip and walk along the street with old carrier bags, you'd probably look exactly the way I've always pictured you, complete with a dirty yella Burda top......

Jack the Hat

Cantello,

The rush of methane gas from his mossive gut as he landed after jumping out of the skip would have every Baggies fan rushing for their gas mask. He would be on his way to Dingle city like a freed, un-knotted balloon. " There he blows " shouted captain Ahab.

L☺Ls.

Jackett the Hat

Lol, you got a pawn shop Jack, you'l take anything in....keep thinking I've got a mossive bally and I'll keep believing you used to be a bouncer.

No fool like an old fool I suppose.

Jack the Hat

Cantello,

Guessed that would rattle his cage, he said he weighed twenty eight stones but it appears he is a mossive liar to boot, give 'em enough rope I say.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

Cyril

Jacques le Chapeau. It would have to be a bloody THICK rope mate at 26 stone. Match his yed !

Thomp11

Really? Sounds like an inbred Dingle from the Netto ghetto talking to me... I can hear the duelling banjos playing.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Laugh, I didn't know when I'd start.

The View From Baggy Bottom

Don't Stoke wear an Adidas strip as well? I wonder if they will have red pinstripes next season.

I think someone high up in the Adidas marketing department is gonna be in a whole load of trouble over this potentially huge misjudgement.

It's not as though I can see any finantial benefit to The Albion for this change. Unless, of coarse, the new shirt deal which has just been signed was somehow tied in to the narrowing of the traditional broad blue stripes in order to raise the profile of the Adidas shoulder stripes, thereby raising the Adidas brand awareness. I've made this point before and I know it sounds like a bit of a conspiracy theory, but why else would you agree to such a blatant break with tradition in the full knowledge that it would be absolutely guaranteed to upset your own loyal supporters. It has to be about making more money. JP is a money man. His decision making is done on a commercial basis. I can't believe that he's thinking about going ahead with this just because he thought we would like a bit of a change.

Vincent Tan made changes to Cardiff's strip because he doesn't give a toss about the supporters and their traditions. He owns the club and the colour red and dragons are lucky in his culture, so thats what he will have. Cardiff City is his toy to play with and he will break it if he wants to.

I don't think that JP is anything like Tan, but I doubt if we will ever get a straight answer about why Albion could end up playing in pinstripes, but a boycott by supporters is probably the only weapon at our disposal. Only problem is, club revenue would drop, which could affect investment on the pitch.

These things are very complicated and simple solutions can turn out more problematic than intended.

Lets hope that this shirt change bandwagon has a reverse gear. If the deal has been done, there may be trouble ahead.

Boing Boing!!!

BrierleyHillOriginalBaggie

No good blaming JP, it's all to do with some jumped up little marketing twerp at Adidas, trying to get some brownie points, but he does need to stand up to them on this one

Wish we hadn't gone with Adidas as they can't work outside the box, happened last year, ended up with the same strip as stoke just different colours

Wonder if that's why Stoke have gone with another supplier?

All I can say is Adidas's brochure must be very thin, one sheet and it's about time they produced what the buyer wanted

Too much above themselves let's get with Umbro or someone else

The way it's going they will be replacing the throstle with flower

simmo54

I am pleased that the E & S have run this article for me - I am John Simcox - but even more delighted that former players have thrown their weight behind it.

Le's get the message across - come you supporters wear your blue & white stripes with a sense of pride, heritage and tradition. It matters not from what season your shirt is from - in fact the greater the variety the better as it shows we can make subtle changes but not wholesale radical changes.

COYB

CantelloRocket 78

Simmo,

It was mentioned above that Everton fans boycotted their club shop in protest against change, and the Toffees then did a U-Turn, because nothing hurts a profit chasing business more than plummeting sales - so every idea's worth considering!!

AndyH

Evening mate,

well done it getting it run.....diamond!

Euro Wolf

First time I will agree with Jack the Hat.

West Brom must stay in Blue and white stripes!

With support from a Wolfie since 1967.

PS It would be just like us wearing stripes.... ooh wait, didn't we play in the same strip in the earliest days?

Jack the Hat

Euro,

Yes you did wear stripes but your club dropped them as it doesn't work with Orange Crush and Black colours.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

capehill

TVFBB I believe our 92/93 away kit was red and yellow stripes, check it out. boing boing

The View From Baggy Bottom

capehill,

I'm sure you're right, but it didn't make any sense back then. Now we could shout olay every time we completed a pass, not that we would have lost our voices doing that this season.

Now that we are an established Prem team, just think of the shirt sales in Spain. That wouldn't have happened in 92/93.

Nice broad stripes mind, none of those airy fairy pinstripes.

Boing Boing!!!

WEll done Simmo. Brilliant Stuff

darren.tomlinson

I live in Spain, and a baggies fan, the Spanish are getting to know and like/follow wba, due to Pepe Mel being boss, a change of away kit as suggested by the view from baggy bottom, would further increase Spanish interest, VERY GOOD IDEA, other clubs target asia, why not target fans who can fly at low cost and support ie Spanish :-)

The View From Baggy Bottom

darren.tomlinson

Thanks mate. I knew it made sense.

Thomp11

Blue and white STRIPES home, yellow and green STRIPES away. Simples!

AndyH

Hi mate,

and the lucky red shirt as a third strip..for when we need it.

TVFBB, youre right it didn't make sense then, but now, I see where your coming from. Boing boing

CR78 - I honestly cannot believe that the Stafford Bin Dipper, Jackett the CAC , james hunt tnuc is the is 26 stone, if he is then im just gob smacked, tell him to look in the mirror get it, boing boing

CantelloRocket 78

Capehill,

'Jackett the Hat' said it himself on the wolves site awhile back, he's also said he often comes into West Brom to hoover up our food - I'm simply repeating what he's said himself, and highlighting his disgusting hypocrisy.

Jackett the Hat

Are you the same Cantello Rocket that only very rarely visits the Wolves threads but brings up stuff nearly everyday then comes out with the hypocrite tag ?

Think I've said before.....try to be honest please mate, it really does spoil ya.

CantelloRocket 78

Jackett-

you know very well you said that a long time ago, and I've mentioned before that I used to glance over the dark side fairly regularly then, but rarely do these days-

you know this because you live on the Baggies site day and night, like a leech, devouring our every word-

I've posted once over there in 2 years, whilst you've used half a dozen names to put hundreds on here-

basically a very sad individual, twisted inside with poisonous resentment.......

Jackett the Hat

Ha,ha somebody from Capehill callin me a bin dipper....fantastic. I'd take you a bit more serious if you could string a sentence together lol. Capehill.....ha,ha more like Benny Hill. Luvvin it.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Oh dear there goes that razor sharp wit again.

See what he did there Capey? comparing Cape Hill with Benny Hill because they've both got Hill in. I don't know how he keeps coming up with them I really don't, the bloke's a pure comic genius.

Baggie Ed

Could it be that Jackett the prat has an association with low hill?

Cyril

Jackett the Tw*t. "I'd take you a bit more serious" Come now child, how many times do I have to tell you,

"I'd take you a bit more seriously" Don't criticise others until YOU know what you're talking about ! Write out 100 times, "People Who Live In Glass Houses Should Not Throw Stones".

BrierleyHillOriginalBaggie

Pretty obvious that we have been allocated the red with white pinstripe that Stoke were due to have, for away strip

Why are red and yellow stripes being mentioned when Adidas don't do stripes

Hope there's a get out clause in this contract, let's get back to blue and white proper stripes for home and green and yellow in your face stripes for away

Fed up of red now

I'm not purchasing anything Adidas for the foreseeable future anyone care to join me

Cyril

I was angry enough about the Sunderland display to not add a further irritation.

Sunderland were in red/white stripes, black sorts and stockings. We were in blue/white stripes NAVY BLUE shorts and white stockings. At times I was looking at the stockings to see whether it was one of ours. We WEAR WHITE SHORTS ! Wrap your yampy heads round it Marketing people !

Thomp11

Jackett The Hat rhymes with... Idiot (you know I am sure what I mean)...

AndyH

Evening,

I think the club needs to stop and take a breath here before it makes it's next decision. This week has seen 2 stories run that have made the board look a) insensitive and b) not respectful of history. The Astle campaign is a worthy one and in my opinion the club needs to do all it can to help....both publically and behind the scenes....to be seen to be doing so. The Shirt issue is, if reports and the leaked picture are accurate, a slap in the face to history and tradition. Cyril's post above describes our whole strip as it should be....stripes / white shorts....to deviate from this at all would be a travesty. We've all got old shirts in the wardrobe that were "tweaked" with slightly wider or thinner stripes (still got my 93 barcode one) and the away shirt has become one that has changed many times in recent years ( look...either the now famous lucky red or yellow and green please!!) but the stripes are what we are recognised as....

I don't care what other clubs do to their heritage...I certainly care about ours.

Please - leave our shirts alone

regards

AndyH

solihullbaggie

Football clubs on the continent have a better design of Adidas kit! So why do we settle for second rate Cr@p anyway?

rings123

why do we need to change been a baggie since 1953 seen most of there matches home and away till illness 2 years ago always been proud of the blue and white stripes so come on jp just for once listen to the fans and change your mind cause I for one wont buy the new shirt hey that 50 quid I saved and what ever percentage the club gets you lost and I think there will be lots like me

solihullbaggie

Jackett dose your club still sell replica shirts which the badges fall off?

albpeh

As i have said before ,DO NOT BUY ANY STRIP UNLESS IT IS BLUE AND WHITE STRIPES.

We are Albion ,so lets have thick blue stripes.

Nothing else.

Do not let your children have the new strip unless it is blue and white stripes.

Baggieboy26

Albion till we die...

Stripes will NEVER die!

We are Albion and we are the blue and white stripes. Who is crazy enough to change the tradition of stripes! NEVER EVER BUY THE 'PINSTRIPED' SHIRT.

REMEMBER:

Don't Buy,

BECAUSE WE'RE STRIPES TILL WE DIE!

astle bridge

Not only stoke wear the same strip as us this season hull did too.Hit em where it hurts in the pocket just boycott the shirt ,you wont see the uturn for the dust.

astle bridge

Oh bytheway WELL DONE SIMMO

euroboundbaggie

Not brought Cardiff much luck as it.

Mboy

I know I'm not as old as some on hear, but I've NEVER heard of our strip being "Oxford" blue and white stripes - always been NAVY blue!!

Mboy

here!!

The Real Bully Hoo.

Mboy.

I can remember different shirts being various shades of blue, especially back in the sixties but all were dark blue. I don't know what the official shade is or even if there actually is one. Of course back then shirts would be made to last longer and dyes tended not to be so colour fast which ha an effect.

rings123

no no no to new shirts

Jackett the Hat

Rather be James Hunt than Nigel Mansell, think he was a whinging Brummie aswel wore e.....

AndyH

Oh dear,

words fail me...as they have once again you....

capehill

I don't think you understand , what a James hunt is, when I refer to it being you , I don't mean the racing driver you James Hunt lol lol

do lallytap

It's simples really....

If you like the new shirt buy one

If you don't like the new shirt, Boycott it

Personally, I am boycotting it...so thats saved me the cost of 4 new shirts for us next season and it's cost the Albion revenue....they will soon get the message when they see their money taking a dip.

The whole world is built around making more ££££ and Albions speed for greed will backfire.

Adidas want everyone to wear similar strips throughout Europe, look at the Anderlect Away and you will see it's almost like this new guff....it keeps costs down but not the prices, all they want to do is change the badge....well not with my money they won't !

Blue and white STRIPES will be worn to every future match until they are in tatters

STUFF yer progress !!

OLE !!

The Real Bully Hoo.

Cape.

Jackett the Hat always cites Jack the Hat going on their site as the reason he comes on here, thereby doing exactly the same as a bloke he professes to detest.

Makes a lot of sense doesn't it?

Jackett the Hat

Mr Hoo, I've never used that excuse for coming over here, never ever. Somebody else has thrown that excuse in , but not me, so you can join your mucka on here in your new Cartel, police the pages fabrication club. You can keep thinkin I'm 26 stone but that'd be quite good with all the porkie pies you keep throwing .

I'll repeat what I said earlier....please be honest.

P.S I don't detest Jack, we just have banter, I don't detest anyone , I just forget that it's just your thread and the control freaks keep on biting.....it's like asking a bull terrier to watch a pound of sausage.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Pathetic.

The Voice of Reason

Personally I think the pinstripes are a good idea. When the average Albion fan puts the shirt on, the pinstripes will stretch and you won't notice any difference compared to last year's TCB.

Cyril

Sounds more like The Voice of Prejudice you son of a silly person.

capehill

TRBH Cyril, they just cannot help themselves, ROTFL , lol lol lol lol ,it is as you say ,they hate us but still come on here. So here goes,

26 stone , tnuc, ( the clue is look in the mirror, come on for gods sake) James hunt bin dipper, from Stafford, you didn't answer my question, Did it hurt , The 5-1. In fact," voice of idiot" , you can answer that too if u like. Kenny Fatboy slim jacket the potato head , what if Nigel Mansell was a Brummie, where is the relevance (prey , tell), So to teach yourself a lesson for being a clown, you are to stand in the next bin u dip, and shout 10 times at passers by, I AM RUBBISH!, then repeat.

Now onto football , it states that PM still unclear on his future, and hopes to have talks after the stoke game. Any Albion fans ..... want to discuss

AndyH

Hi mate,

personally hope he stays......I think he deserves a chance at least. besides, who else is out there that could do a better job? We all know the squad will evolve over the summer whatever happens and at least Pepe has a 4 month head start on anybody new. he knows how he wants to play and I'd guess knows who he wants to bring in...

give him a chance

I for one will be boycotting the new shirt if its not broad blue and white stripes im not parting with my hard earned cash for that senseless change of tradition .

As for away kits , i always liked the yellow with sky blue arms and the red with navy blue arms . . . Blast from the past i know !!
