The lads from McFly and Busted brought their new super group to the LG Arena last night - and this was more than just a gig - the six-piece put on a show from start to finish.

It opened with video footage of the 2005 press conference when Busted announced their split - before James Bourne and Matt Willis decide to time travel Back to the Future-style to 2014 and join forces with McFly. Moments later, as deafening screams fill the arena, they fly on stage in the DeLorean with their McFly mates not far behind as they burst into Air Hostess - complete with lots of synchronised jumps. And that sets the tone for a night of relentless fun.

The band storm around the stage with relentless energy and deliver hit after hit - with a few more Busted tracks than McFly's. Not that the audience seem to mind, they lap it up, singing and dancing the night away.

At times the two bands really make you wonder if they've actually been apart, as they comfortably perform each other's songs with vocal duties shared out evenly.

They deliver hit after hit much to the delight of their fans, with tracks such as Five Colours in Her Hair, Obviously, Sleeping With the Light On and Shine a Light all proving to be crowd pleasers.

The set is impressive throughout and midway through the show they descend from a UFO suspended in the middle of the arena, which becomes a second stage. Talk about making - yet another - impressive appearance.

Speaking of appearances, Fearne Cotton was a famous face among the audience - the band explaining she was with a TV crew to film them on tour, much to the delight of the crowd.

When they aren't running around the stage, there's also plenty of banter between the McFly and Busted guys, much of it school-boy humour, including a video-clip of Tom Fletcher's wedding speech, which is hi-jacked by the two Busted lads. That leads us into Crash the Wedding, which brings with it not only a cannon of confetti but Matt Willis in an wedding dress.

For the finale, McBusted delighted the crowd with All About you, before closing the show with an uplifiting Year 3000.

A fitting end to a trip back in time - and no doubt one that will lead to a bright future.
