Anger after MP Tom Watson tweets Amazing Spider-Man 2 film plot

A West Midlands MP has upset fans of a new blockbuster film by revealing a plot twist to thousands of people on social media.

Tom Watson who represents West Bromwich East, has been blasted by fans of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

He tweeted about a key storyline in the film leading to many saying he had given away the story.

Twitter user Lee Rand, said: "I would have thought that even MPs would get the concept of spoilers."

Another fan posted a picture linked to his twitter account with the logo for Superman with the word Spoilerman attached.

Mr Watson, who has around 142,000 followers on his twitter account, later deleted his tweet about the film.

He also offered an apology for revealing the plot of the film to its fans.

He told his followers on Twitter: "Just explained to my boy what I've done.

"He said I should have waited until it was out on DVD."

The film based on the comic book series came out last week. It stars real-life couple Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. It sees Spider Man, played by Garfield, take on villains that threaten New York. The film also stars Jamie Foxx.
