It is believed a cash box may have been snatched from a security guard's hand outside a branch of Lloyds bank.

Mac Davies, who runs the computer shop Jesters in Three Tuns and said the area had been a hive of activity all morning.

He said: "There were a lot of police around today and I think it was an opportunist who has done it.

"I've heard that they just snatched the box from him but then they took it around the back and tried to open it there."

He added: "Normally every morning when the van is here there is a police car driving around somewhere."

The G4S security van was still parked by the bank at midday today.

A police investigation has now been launched and officers have been at the scene today carrying out inquires.
