Delays for passengers after power cut at Birmingham Airport

Passengers faced disruption this morning as power was lost in the south area of the terminal at Birmingham Airport.

No flights were cancelled or diverted, however some passengers experienced minor delays.

The power was lost for around 70 minutes and was restored shortly after 8.30am.

Airport spokeswoman Justine Howl, said: "The power in the south part of the terminal was lost for about an hour and 10 minutes so all flights moved to the north part of the terminal where the power was fine and it was restored at 8.38am.

"We will be fully operational for the rest of the day. We apologise to passengers that were affected."
