First snow falls in Staffordshire as freeze hits

A sparkling blanket of snow and frost covered parts of Staffordshire today in the first icy blast of 2014.

Snow fell in Cannock Chase and roads were left covered in frost after temperatures dropped overnight.

The Met Office today issued a warning to motorists to be aware of icy roads, with many having a treacherous journey to work today.

Forecasters say the freezing temperatures are not expected to last, and will rise to 7C (44.6F).

Well done local councils and lack of gritting, asleep as always when really needed. Dont worry though lads, keep banging in your expenses, all you councillors do a grand job

JIWAL,You could always get your shovel out,and do some gritting yourself ,helping the local council out,and saving the lads banging in there expenses.
