Fire at Wolverhampton's Strykers bowling alley 'deliberate'

A blaze which destroyed the Strykers bowling alley in Wolverhampton is believed to have been started deliberately, police said today.

The alley burnt to the ground on Sunday.

West Midlands Police spokesman Pete Edney confirmed the fire was being treated as arson and said any witnesses should contact the force.

Fire crews were called at around 5.20pm on Sunday to the fire on Bushbury Lane.

At its height, around 100 firefighters from across the Black Country and Birmingham battled the blaze with up to 14 fire engines.
