Trains delayed after lorry hits bridge

Train passengers were stuck in delays of up to 45 minutes after a lorry  struck a bridge.

A car struck the bridge by Sandwell & Dudley railway station at around 7.10pm last night.

The impact had a knock-on effect for train passengers travelling between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton.

National Rail said delays were up to 45 minutes. After the bridge was inspected, normal service resumed by around 9.40pm.
