Robbie Savage and Phil Taylor film at Wolverhampton Grand Slam of Darts

Phil 'The Power' Taylor looks less than impressed as footballer-turned-TV pundit Robbie Savage looked to muscle in on his territory at the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.

But frowns quickly turned to smiles as the pair were together to film a video for the event's sponsor William Hill.

The 16-times world champion played Savage and Sky Sports darts pundit and former professional Rod Harrington on the oche at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall.

The venue is playing host to the world's best players this week and has attracted thousands of fans, many of whom have worn fancy dress for the occasion.

Former Birmingham City and Wales star Savage admits that he loves watching the Grand Slam – but has no pretensions to take Taylor on in a real competitive match.

"I love my darts, I remember doing a Soccer AM challenge where I had to hit the bullseye. Luckily, I hit it with my third dart. It was surreal, pure pot luck," he said.

And he was quick to tip 'The Power' to win the whole tournament, which finishes on Sunday night.

Savage added: "If it goes to the form book, it's going to be Phil. They are all trying to get the better of him, but no-one can."

Taylor, who has already qualified for the knockout stages after winning his first two matches, was due to play Kevin 'The Artist' Painter tonight.

The five-times Grand Slam champion is keen to take a sixth crown back to his Stoke-on-Trent base. "I will be having a good go, that's for sure," he said.
