Hundreds of homes and businesses were left without electricity following a power cut.
Western Power Distribution said 310 customers in the Caldmore area of Walsall lost supplies shortly before 7pm last night after low voltage fuses blew.
But engineers fitted replacement fuses within an hour and power was restored to the affected properties in Caldmore Road, Hart Street and Glebe Street by 7.45pm.
Yasser Sadiq, manager of take away Roti Junction based in Caldmore Road, said: “This is a bit of a nuisance. The power went off right the middle of my busiest time. I had to send the customers away because we couldn't cook anything and we lost the trade. The people didn't come back.
“The power supply came back on within 45 minutes which was better than the last time.
"A similar thing happened about six months ago when they were working on the road and cut through the cable.”
