The son and daughter of a couple who died in a road accident have spoken of their heartbreak at the loss of their parents.
Dennis Bennett, aged 82 and his wife Mavis, aged 84, from Albrighton died when their silver Renault car collided with an articulated lorry on the A41 near Tong.
They are believed to have been travelling home from a shopping trip when the tragedy happened at around 2.20pm on Friday.
The couple’s children, David and Suzanne, today spoke of their heartbreak at the loss of their parents, who were married for 61 years.
They said: “The whole family is shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden loss of mum and dad, and no words can express our feelings.”
Mr and Mrs Bennett had lived in Albrighton for more than 35 years and have two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact West Mercia Police on 101.
