Former West Bromwich Albion stars Bob Taylor, Geoff Horsfield, and Richard Sneekes will line up against a team of coaches and managers from a youth club for a charity game next month.
The ex-professional players will play for West Midlands Legends in the match against Stourbridge-based Forest Falcons at Lye Football Club on October 13 at 2pm.
The event has been organised by youth coach and parent Bryn Nicholls for Ridgewood High School’s Project Gambia scheme.
The project will see several Year 10 children from the school, including Mr Nicholl’s son Oliver, travel to the African country for charity work. School headteacher Clive Nutting will also play in the game.
Mr Nicholls said: “We hope to raise £1,000, but if we get £500 I’ll be happy. As well as the game there will be a raffle. We hope it will be a great day and a chance for people to see their heroes again.”
Tickets will cost £2.
