The newspaper has compiled a four-page supplement, which will be sent to judges as the city's final submission.

It includes an editorial on the city's merits, coverage of the public awareness campaign, profiles of the five curry restaurants representing the city and news stories on Wolverhampton's links with India.

The newspaper was printed on the Express & Star's presses and will be sent to judges before the September 20 deadline.

Wolverhampton is looking to improve on three successive third place finishes behind Bradford and Glasgow.

Brand and communications manager Chris Leggett said: "Working with city centre management company WV One, we are sure we have produced a winning bid for Wolverhampton".

Five Indian restaurants are representing the city – Bilash and Jivans from the city centre, Cafe Rickshaw in Chapel Ash, Ranga Mati in Wednesfield and the Gulshan Balti of Bilston.

The official bid document will be considered by the judges, along with mystery diner visits to the five city restaurants and public voting.

Residents and diners can vote for their city by emailing votecity@fedrest.com, with Wolverhampton in the subject title. The deadline is now September 27. For more info visit: http://www.currycapitalwolves.co.uk
