A man died when his car left the road and hit a tree in Staffordshire.
The driver, named locally as Danny Taylor, aged 29, died at the scene in Colliery Road in Brereton, near Rugeley.
He suffered a heart attack and two off duty nurses tried to resuscitate him. A woman in her 20s, who was a front seat passenger, suffered head injuries.
Floral tributes have been left by friends and family at the scene, including several Liverpool FC shirts.
A Facebook page in memory to Mr Taylor, who lived in Rugeley, has attracted hundreds of comments.
Stacey Fiona Culvin said: “Devastated is an understatement.” Hollie-Beth Barnes posted: “One of the nicest lads I ever met, every time I saw you you always had a big smile on your face you’ll be missed by many rest in paradise Danny.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 9.20pm on Friday.
