Former Wolves star Sylvan Ebanks-Blake will not face charges following an alleged assault outside a nightclub in Birmingham, police confirmed today.
The striker was interviewed by police after officers were called to reports of an attack in Lower Trinity Street in the early hours of January 2.
West Midlands Police spokesman Lee Page said today: “A 27-year-old man who was interviewed in connection with an allegation of assault in the early hours of Wednesday January 2 on Lower Trinity Street in Birmingham will face no further action.”
The former Manchester United striker left Wolves on a free following the club’s relegation to League One.
His final game for the club came in a 3-2 win against Birmingham City at St Andrew’s on Easter Monday in which he netted twice but was then injured.
He signed for Wolves for £1.5 million in 2008 and is currently without a club.
