A multi-million pound Tesco superstore in the centre of Stourbridge will open to shoppers at the end of next month – three weeks ahead of schedule, it was revealed today.
Developers had targeted an opening time for the £50million shop and car park at the former Crown Centre for November 20 – but today it was announced the store would open on October 31.
A major recruitment drive to employ about 400 people at the new store begins at a jobs fair at the Salvation Army in Cradley Heath on September 26.
Around 100 of the jobs will be taken by long-term unemployed people.
