A driver had a lucky escape after his car flipped over following a crash with a lorry on the Black Country Route.
The man suffered minor injuries to his hand after the smash between the M6 junction and The Keyway at 10pm last night.
The car, a red Volkswagen Up, had its windows smashed and its bodywork crumpled in crash.
Highways officials were also called to the scene to clean up a diesel spillage from the lorry.
West Midlands Police Sergeant Ian Mayand, of West Midlands Police, said: “It could have been a lot worse.”
He added that the crash had shunted the car onto some railing before it came to rest on its side and said: “This particular driver was lucky.”
Traffic was reduced to a single lane for several hours while police carried out investigations at the scene.
