A man with links to Wolverhampton and Birmingham is believed to have stolen from an 88-year-old partially sighted woman as she stood at a bus stop.
Wiltshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to over the incident in Chippenham earlier this month.
It is thought the thief may have followed the victim from her bank before distracting her and taking her bank card, which was later used to withdraw and spend large sums of money.
Officers have information that the man often visits the Birmingham and Wolverhampton areas. Detective Jannette Challe, from Wiltshire Police, said: “This man might be targeting vulnerable people in Birmingham and Wolverhampton and we believe someone out there knows exactly who he is. We would like to hear from them. He came to Wiltshire to steal and chose an 88-year-woman who was partially sighted.” Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Challes at the Crime Management Unit in Melksham, Wiltshire on 101.
