New multi-screen Odeon cinema in West Bromwich will create 32 positions

The new £3 million Odeon cinema in West Bromwich will create 32 new jobs, bosses revealed today.

The five-screen cinema is opening as part of the £200m New Square Tesco shopping and leisure development.

It will open its doors to film fans on July 12 as part of the first phase of the New Square scheme.

The Tesco Extra store, anchoring the scheme, will open first on July 11.

While the new leisure quarter of New Square, including Nandos, Prezzo and Harvester will open on the same day.

Other shops including Next, JD Sports, Primark, Outfit, Costa, Phones4U and Deichmann Shoes will also be opening during the summer and later on this year.

Leader of Sandwell Council Darren Cooper said the opening of New Square was an extremely significant milestone.

He added: "Our partnership with Tesco has played a huge role in breathing new life into West Bromwich."
