Body found in search for missing Shifnal man Graham Austin

Police searching for a missing man who lives near Wolverhampton and went missing while on holiday in North Wales have found a body.

Graham Austin, 53, from Shifnal, has not been seen since Sunday.

The body, which has not yet been formally identified, was found yesterday afternoon at Llyn Brenig, Alwen, near Cerrigydrudion.

It was found by members of the Joint Underwater Search Team.

A spokesman for North Wales police said: "Members of the 53-year-old's family have been informed and are being supported by police.

"Formal identification however is yet to take place.

"The coroner has been informed and there are no further details at present."

A huge search and rescue was launched after Mr Austin was last seen leaving the caravan he was staying in near Corwen, Denbighshire at 4.30am.

His car was found at Llyn Brenig, which borders Conwy and Denbighshire.
