The speed limit on an accident-hit stretch of road in Staffordshire is to be cut.
The limit will be reduced from 50mph to 40mph on the A34 between Landywood and Newtown. It follows 11 accidents there over the past five years.
Transport chiefs at the county council are now considering the results of a review of all A and B roads in the county and will consider if other speed limits should be cut.
Councillor Alan Kelsey, who sits on Great Wyrley Parish Council, today welcomed the speed limit change.
County council spokeswoman Helen Eyley said officers had carried out a review of the speed limits and were currently assessing the recommendations.
