The Museum of Cannock Chase is being given an £88,000 facelift for the summer.
New windows have already been installed and workmen are currently rendering the outside of the building ahead of it being painted.
The work is expected to be completed within the next few weeks and is part of the Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust (WLCT’s) £2 million investment programme in leisure and cultural services in the area.
WLCT was awarded a 10-year contract to manage these services on behalf of Cannock Chase District Council last April.
More than £680,000 is also being invested improving Rugeley Leisure Centre.
