Miller & Carter, in Penn, will shut its doors to the public early on Sunday evening.

The restaurant will be expanded with a new upstairs area being installed to cater for an extra 35 diners on top of the 165 it already seats.

A new kitchen is also being built during the revamp, before the restaurant reopens for diners on October 15.

Miller & Carter took over the former Penn Cottage site, in Stourbridge Road, in 2006.

The steakhouse chain has 27 restaurants across the UK, including one in Birmingham's popular Mailbox district.
