When millions of film fans across the world flock to see the new James Bond film, a nail artist will be admiring her work on his love interest's hands.

Khadine Coleman was chosen to work on Berenice Marlohe's nails for her role as Severine in Skyfall, which is due for release in October.

Miss Coleman, from Stourbridge, spent two hours each day creating a complex design featuring gold and dark red colours.

She was based in Pinewood Studios for a week after being chosen by nail product manufacturers OPI, who she works for as an technician.

The firm came up with a special colour named after the film to be used by the character, and has also produced a range of lacquers to tie in with its release. Miss Coleman has already done pop singer Jessie J's nails for the cover of Cosmopolitan.

And she has also worked on the launch of TOWIE star Amy Childs's Brentwood salon.

The 37-year-old, who has run her own salon Nail Envy in Wollaston High Street since 1997, said: "I couldn't believe it when I was sent the email asking if I wanted to work on the film.

"It still hasn't sunk in that it actually happened to me.

"I had to be on set at 4am every day but it was so exciting.

"You would think that jobs like this usually go to someone in London – it just doesn't happen to someone with a salon in little old Wollaston."

Miss Coleman had to pre-shape a set of nail tips and then paint the back of each one gold with five coats in order to get an even coverage.

She then attached them to the actress's nails before adding the Skyfall red colour on the front.

She said Miss Marlohe was "a joy to work with" and added: "She was so stunning - absolutely beautiful."

And she briefly met Bond himself, Daniel Craig, who, she said, was "absolutely charming".

But she was careful not to get starstruck as "to the actors this is their job and working environment so you have to treat it that way".
