Just months ago Sound of Music Star Connie Fisher thought she would never sing again, after a throat condition forced her to quit her West End role.
But after vocal chord surgery in America the 28-year old singing star has found her voice again.
And she hit all the right notes at a launch event to promote Leonard Bernstein’s musical Wonderful Town, which opens at Birmingham Hippodrome in May.
It was the first time the singer has performed in the region since quitting the West End because of her throat problems in August.
She said: “I was told, and thought, I would never sing again, it was heartbreaking. Music is my life and always has been. So to be here talking about this Broadway musical is wonderful. I will be striving to make the role my own.”
Wonderful Town runs at the Hippodrome from May 22 to 26.
