Rush hour delays after A449 collision

A pedestrian was in a collision with a van in Wolverhampton, causing rush hour delays for drivers.

The man, in his 30s, was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, with serious injuries following the accident on the A449 Stafford Road at its junction with Bushbury Lane at 4.15pm yesterday.

The northbound carriageway was closed while the scene was cleared, leading to tailbacks as drivers tried to find alternative routes.
