Tunky pig, riffy wammel and scabby ‘oss are some of the latest expressions featuring on T-shirts created by a Cradley Heath firm which specialises in Black Country merchandise.
TeeT Shirts, in Reddal Hill Road, has released a host of new items, including T-shirts, bags and hoodies, bearing the likeness of the three cartoon characters as well as other Black Country expressions.
For those not fluent in Black Country dialect tunky means fat, while a riffy wammel means a smelly dog and a scabby ‘oss is a scabby horse.
The company is now celebrating its fifth year in business. The firm employs three full time staff as well as its two founders, Warren McCabe-Smith and Stephen Pitts. It is now inviting ideas for Black Country-themed T-shirts about the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Ideas can be submitted by emailing admin@ teetshirts.com.
