Their screams have almost shattered the walls of every venue where their idols have performed.

And fans of One Direction almost lifted the roof off Birmingham's NIA when the group returned to the Midlands on their first UK tour.

The X Factor heartthrobs – including Wolverhampton's own Liam Payne – sent the crowd into a frenzy, and the ear-splitting squeals didn't stop until the lights came back up.

The set began with Na Na Na, sung in front of a cheeky video of the group larking about on the beach, before I Wish. After singing a few of their own numbers, the boys – Zayn, Niall, Harry, Louis and Liam – chatted to the crowd, before inviting them to join in a sing-a-long of acoustic cover numbers around a campfire setting.

After renditions of Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling, Louis took to the fore in Valerie by the Zutons, and Liam shone with his take on Natalie Imbruglia's Torn.

The show follows their storming gig at Wolverhampton Civic Hall, which marked the start of their tour.
