Wolverhampton murder officers in wait to quiz man
Saturday 31st December 2011, 9:42AM GMT.
Police are waiting to talk to a 39-year-old man as part of their inquiries into a murder in Wolverhampton.
It comes after a woman was found dead inside a flat in Newhampton Road West in Whitmore Reans on Thursday. The 36-year-old had been stabbed 18 times in the chest and stomach.
A 39-year-old man was also found injured and is in a stable condition at New Cross Hospital. Police are hoping he will soon be in a position to help them continue their investigations.
Police and paramedics were called to the flat in Newhampton Road West at around 7.45am when a 12-year-old boy who was in the flat at the time of the horror, raised the alarm.
A police spokesman said: “We are not formally identifying the woman yet. It would be fair to say that we are waiting to speak to the man in hospital. There have not been any arrests.”
