Detectives in the Black Country today issued this e-fit of a man they want to trace in connection with a series of robberies on a canal towpath.
Three robberies have all taken place on the towpath near Bentley Mill Way, Walsall, in the past two months.
Police are keen to speak to this man in connection with the incidents, including one where a man suffered a broken jaw.
During the most recent attack, a 12-year-old boy was threatened and unhurt but had his bag stolen before the robber ran off in the direction of Pleck.
The offender was white, in his early 20s, 5ft 7ins tall, of a skinny build and a scruffy appearance. He had spots on the right side of his face near to his nose and yellow stained teeth. He was wearing a grey hooded top, light blue jeans and black trainers.
The first attack happened on October 10 between 4.50pm and 5pm near to the EMR Bridge on the towpath.
Nothing was taken from the 40-year-old victim.
A 20-year-old man was riding his bike under the bridge on November 1 between 5.20pm and 5.40pm when he was punched and had his bike stolen.
The victim suffered a broken jaw and swelling to his face. Dc Clare Cavanagh, from Walsall CID, said: “If anybody recognises the person from the e-fit I would ask them to contact us as soon as possible.
“We are investigating all three robberies and believe they may have all been committed by the same man who is targeting people using the towpath.
“Despite all our investigations to date we have been unable to identify this man and prevent any further attacks.”
Anyone with information about the robberies should call Walsall CID on the non-emergency number 101.
